Apple has already provided a wonderful built in full length Bengali qwerty keyboard for writing Bangla in iOS devices (iPhone/iPad). But if you’re a lazy person like me and are looking for a phonetic layout for writing Bangla on your iOS devices, then the developers from OmicronLab has come up with a really neat solution in this regard.
Thanks to the awesome developers of OmicronLab, we now have an online variant of the popular Bengali phonetic writing layout Avro, which was previously available only for Windows, MacOS and Linux.
We can now use this online version of Avro for writing Bengali phonetically on any iOS devices (and Androids too).
Here are the steps to port Avro on your beloved iOS device—
1. First of all, visit https://avro.im from the Safari browser.
2. Now tap on the Share button on your Safari browser.
3. Tap on ‘Add to Home Screen’. At this point, you’ll have an option to add Avro directly to your home screen menu.
4. Now get back to your home screen, tap on the newly added Avro icon. At this point, Avro will be loaded on your device.
5. Once loaded, this app will work regardless of your device is connected to internet or not. You can now type Bengali directly here using Avro’s phonetic layout. And then copy-paste your text to use it as you wish.
This app was made using javascript and loads all the necessary resources on the client device once it is initiated. That’s why it doesn’t require any more internet connection for further use.

আইওএস ডিভাইস গুলোতে বাংলা লিখবার জন্য অ্যাপল এর পক্ষ থেকে দারুণ একটি বিল্ট ইন বাংলা কোয়ার্টি কিবোর্ড রয়েছে। কিন্তু আপনি যদি কম্পিউটারে ফনেটিক কিবোর্ড ব্যবহার করে অভ্যস্ত হয়ে থাকেন এবং আইওএস ডিভাইসেও অনুরূপ কোন সমাধান চান তবে এর জন্য অভ্রর পক্ষ থেকে খুবি সুন্দর একটা ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে।
১/ আপনার আইওএস ডিভাইসের সাফারি ব্রাউজার থেকে https://avro.im ভিজিট করুন।
২/ এবার সাফারি ব্রাউজারের শেয়ার বাটনে প্রেস করুন এবং সেখানে পাওয়া অপশন গুলো থেকে ‘Add to Home Screen’ এ প্রেস করুন।
৩/ এই অবস্থায় আপনি অভ্র অনলাইন এডিটরটিকে আইওএস এর হোম স্ক্রীন মেনুতে এড করবার অপশন পাবেন। এখান থেকে অভ্র কে মেনুতে এড করে নিন।
৪/ এবার সাফারি বন্ধ করে হোম স্ক্রীন মেনুতে ফিরে আসুন। এবং নতুন যোগ হওয়া অভ্র আইকন এ ট্যাপ করে ওপেন করুন।
৫/ অভ্র ওপেন হলে পেজটি ইন্টারনেট থেকে একবার লোড করে নিলেই কাজ শেষ। এখন আপনি এখানে ইন্টারনেট সংযোগ ছাড়াই সরাসরি ফনেটিক লেআউটে বাংলা লিখতে পারবেন আর পরে কপি পেস্ট করে অন্য জায়গায় ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন।
